Summertime is the perfect time to sing your heart out, act with a passion, meet new friends and make amazing theater together under the guidance of CTM’s professional teaching artists. Our acclaimed Summer Drama School has been training students in stage and life skills since 1977. Join us for an experience you’ll never forget!

Three-Week Sessions 
ages 10 – 16  Young performers train under theater professionals in voice, acting and movement. All sessions meet Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm for two weeks and from 9:00 am to 7:30 pm the final week.  Performances are held on the final Thursday and Friday evening.  Tuition: $700

  • Musical: The Pirates of Penzance, Jr., June 25 - July 13*
  • Musical: Willy Wonka, Jr., July 16 - August 3*
  • Play: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, July 30 - August 17**
  • Musical: Fame, Jr., August 6 - 24*
*Classes and performances meet at Overture Center.
**First two weeks meet downtown with final week and performances at Bartell Theater.



Two-Week Teen Musical Theater Intensive 
ages 16 - 22  Find Your Light!  Led by acclaimed teachers Andrew Abrams and Gail Becker Koppa, this musical theater workshop is for intermediate and advanced performers. Improve your singing and dance audition skills, perfect a solo piece, perform in an ensemble, explore the history & structure of Broadway musicals, learn dance routines from Broadway musicals and more!  Classes meet Monday - Friday from 10 am to 4:30 pm at CTM's studios. A revue-style public performance at Overture Center for the Arts on July 20th concludes the program.  Tuition: $650

  • Musical Theater Intensive: Find Your Light!,  July 9 - July 20

*This program is a partnersihp between CTM and Entr’acte - an organization founded by Andrew Abrams and Gail Becker Koppa to help young performers advance their musical theater skills as they grow into adulthood.



One-Week Sessions
ages 9 - 14 These programs introduce young performers to acting, movement, vocal techniques, stage combat and technical theater.  Our Teaching Artists lead classes every morning and rehearse the performance project in the afternoon.  Each session is led by a different Teaching Artist with Guest Artists introducing new skills daily.  These weeks are designed for students who are new to the theater as well as those with previous experience.  Family and friends are invited to the informal presentation on the last day of class. Classes meet Monday - Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 am at the Overture Center.  Tuition: $300

  • Theater Week I: Places, Please!, June 25 - 29
  • Theater Week II: Curtain Going Up!, July 16 - 20
  • Theater Week III: Enter Stage Right!, August 6 - 10


One Week Session - Theater Week Junior  
age 8  CTM’s popular one-week program is now offered for 8 year olds.  Young performers are introduced to acting, movement and vocal techniques at our studio (228 State Street.)  Class meets Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.  Students start the day with a variety of classes then work on a short performance piece in the afternoon.  Family and friends are invited to an informal presentation at the Overture Center on the final day of class. Tuition: $300

  • Theater Week Junior: July 23 - 27



Saturday Studio Classes 
ages 5 - 7  Classes meet on Saturdays at CTM's Studios and provide our youngest stars acting and musical theater instruction. Exercises and games develop focus and concentration skills, improve speaking and singing abilities, and channel creative energy!  Tuition $160

  • Acting: June 30 - August 18, 10 to 11 am
  • Musical Theater: June 30 - August 16 from 11 am to noon
